About Me
I am a South African English teacher with seven years of online teaching experience and a 120-hour TEFL/TESOL certification. Since 2019, I have taught learners of different ages and abilities in one-to-one lessons and groups ranging from two to 30 students. My experience includes conversational English, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension, business English, and curriculum-based learning.
My methodology is supportive, student-centred, and adaptable. I begin by creating a welcoming environment in which students feel comfortable speaking and making mistakes. I use clear modelling, visual aids, repetition, comprehension questions, and guided practice to scaffold new language. I also connect vocabulary, reading, grammar, and speaking activities so that students understand how to use English in meaningful situations rather than simply memorising rules.
I adapt my pace and teaching style to each learner’s age, personality, confidence, and goals. With younger students, I use games, drawing, movement, praise, and age-appropriate rewards to maintain engagement. I also provide constructive corrections, track progress, and communicate clearly with parents about achievements and areas requiring further support.
I love teaching because it allows me to help students find their voice. Seeing a shy or uncertain learner begin to speak confidently is incredibly rewarding. Fleydo’s focus on personalised, CEFR-aligned learning, measurable progress, and helping children become confident global citizens strongly reflects the kind of teacher I aim to be.
